Financing a Landscape Lighting Project
TC Lighting is a lighting contractor, not a lender. For homeowners who would rather spread the cost, here is how it works and who our clients use.
TC Lighting Does Not Finance In House
TC Lighting, LLC is a licensed Texas electrical contractor, not a lender. There is no in-house payment plan, no store card and no financing desk. We quote the work, and anything to do with borrowing happens between you and a bank.
For homeowners who would rather spread the cost of a project than pay for it outright, the lender our clients use most often is LightStream.
You Deal With the Lender Directly
You apply with LightStream yourself, at lightstream.com. TC Lighting takes no part in the application, never sees your financial information and has no say in the decision.
Rates, terms, fees and eligibility are set by the lender and they change. We do not publish them here, because any figure on this page would be out of date the week after it was written. Read the current terms on the lender’s own site before you commit to anything.
If a loan is approved, it is a loan to you. TC Lighting invoices you for the lighting work exactly as it would for a client paying any other way.
Four Things to Sort Out Before You Borrow
Get the design visit and the written plan first
The free design visit produces a written plan and a real number. Borrowing against a firm figure is a different exercise from borrowing against a guess, and the visit costs nothing either way.
Ask whether the loan is secured, and against what
Home improvement lending comes in both forms. A secured loan is tied to an asset; an unsecured one is not. It changes what is at risk if circumstances change, and it is a question for the lender, not for us.
Compare the total cost, not the monthly payment
A longer term lowers the monthly figure and raises what the project costs in the end. The number that matters is what you will have paid when the last payment clears.
Consider phasing instead
Borrowing is not the only way to make a large project manageable. A scheme can be designed whole and installed in stages — front elevation first, the back garden a year later — with the cable and transformer capacity sized from the outset for the finished design. Plenty of our projects are built that way, and nobody pays interest.
Start With the Number
Before financing is worth thinking about, it is worth knowing what the project actually costs. Todd walks the property himself, in daylight, and leaves a written plan. There is no charge and no obligation.
- See what the work involves on the TC Lighting home page.
- Ask a question or book the visit from the contact page.
- Read the current terms at lightstream.com.
TC Lighting, LLC is not a lender, a loan broker or a financial adviser, and nothing on this page is financial advice. LightStream is an independent company; TC Lighting has no control over its products, terms or decisions. Any credit agreement is between you and the lender.
